Peghooks
widgets Product Positions and dataset Layered Groups use phishing Peghooks when affixed to a Pegboard or Slatwall shelves Racks or dry_cleaning Bars.
If unspecified, the hook used will be inferred from the fixture it is on (Fixture Default).
Setting a hook may be useful for atypical product snapping (due to an offset or slant), or if one must output hook (inferred from explict hook length, or prongs)
The hook used obeys the following hierarchy:
- Explicit: The hook used is explicitly set by the user
- Catalog Default: The hook used by default for this item
- Fixture Default: The hook used inferred by the item's parent fixture
A product may specify its default hook in catalog data (Admin only).
Managing Hooks
File > Manage Hooks opens the dialog for viewing and editing the hooks library.
One may choose a hook from the left sidebar, then edit properties as needed.
Pressing Confirm Hook Changes or Delete Hook will affect all Plan files that have items using that hook -- make changes with caution.
Hook properties are:
Name: How this hook is colloquially referred to
SKU: An identifier for this hook. Used in catalog data to set an item's default hook
Description: Optional description text for users to better understand a hook
Type: Determines how a hook snaps to pegboard
Length: Hook length, in units
Units: Units for Hook Length, Vertical Offset, and Slant properties
Vertical Offset: Vertical offset (when viewed straight on), in units, from where the hook bracket enters its parent fixture to where the hook holding product(s) begins Negative values may be used to express cases in which the hook holding product(s) begins above where the initial hook bracket snaps into its parent rack.
This is often 0. If you are unsure, it is best to leave this as 0.
Prongs: Specifies the number of prongs on the hook, determining capacity. Set this to 0 (default) if the hook does not use prongs, and capacity should instead be determined by hook Length
Slant: The vertical height (straight on) between the top of the hook, where it snaps onto its fixture, and the end of the hook.
Negative values may be used to express cases in which a hook slants upwards.
This is 0 by default.Setting Hooks
To set the hook for a widgets Product Position or dataset Layered Group, Right Click > phishing Assign Hook. Multiple items may be selected, to set their hooks simultaneously.
There are two other ways for a hook to be defined.
A Catalog Default Hook SKU can be provided (by a catalog admin). This will make that item default to the Hook with the given SKU by default -- though this default may still be overridden by explicit hook assignment.
Alternatively, items on dry_cleaning Bars or shelves Racks may take on their fixture's specified Hook Defaults.
